Terms of Reference: Daily Newsletter Producer, IFC (Internship) –
REMOTE

IFC’s Corporate Support Vice Presidency is responsible for
communications, outreach and partnerships, alongside other core corporate
functions, including human resources, budget, and information and technology
systems. The Vice Presidency supports the implementation of IFC’s business
strategy for effective delivery of our programs to clients and partners, in
close collaboration with relevant counterparts across the World Bank Group.
The Communications and Outreach Department manages IFC’s
communications and outreach strategy with a focus on the Corporation’s business
priorities, including cross cutting themes. The department has three integrated
units that facilitate strategic engagement with both internal and external
stakeholders: Corporate Communications, Global Industry and Thematic
Communications, and Regional Communications.
The Communications and Outreach Department seeks to recruit
short-term interns from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) as
part of IFC’s broader diversity, equity and inclusion agenda. In this context,
we are looking for a Washington, DC-based undergraduate/ postgraduate student
to work up to 60 days as a daily newsletter producer for a paid
internship.
The primary duty of the intern will be to produce IFC Daily
–an internal corporate newsletter that serves as a pillar of IFC’s internal
staff engagement. The expected time commitment is approximately three hours a day.
This position is fully remote.
Role and Responsibilities:
•
Produce the IFC Daily newsletter, which includes
organizing the stories and news items, and providing editorial support like
headline creation, writing compelling introductory blurbs, selecting relevant
photos from a database etc.
•
Review and analyze the metrics associated with
IFC Daily and make recommendations to increase readership.
•
Providing copy-editing support, as needed, for
internal stories and announcements.
•
Monitor, analyze, and report on internal
engagement trends and best practices.
•
Be an engaged and contributing partner with the
internal engagement team, sharing new and creative ideas to help the team
effectively communicate.
Selection Criteria:
•
Current or recently graduated bachelor’s
students seeking a paid internship.
•
Interest in communications and staff engagement;
Awareness and appreciation of international development community
•
Business maturity with an ability to deliver
quality product on time.
•
Innovative, creative, detail-oriented, and
self-motivated, with an enthusiasm for the team brainstorming process.
•
Adobe creative cloud experience is a plus.
