The Lifestyle Producer/MMJ oversees quality control of WMBF’s Lifestyle show, Grand Strand Today. This position manages the production of the show to ensure that writing style, content, and presentation meet station standards. The work performed is for all media platforms, including on-air, website, app, and social media.
The ideal candidate thrives when working with a team, exhibits strong editorial judgment and is willing to do what it takes to get the best story. As a producer/MMJ, you’ll contribute to the show’s editorial process, develop story ideas and sources, and go live during special events/shows.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Produce and booth weekday shows• Book appearances for the show• Create social media and website posts• Record and edit segments for broadcast• Co-host specials
Qualifications/Requirements:
• Must possess strong news judgment.• Excellent writing, shooting, editing, and producing skills.• Possess knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Premiere Pro.• Must understand ability to be calm and decisive under pressure.• Must possess strong writing and coaching skills.• Ability to conceptualize and execute strong visual elements.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or related field or equivalent training and/or experience.
