We plan to select 5-10 brilliant students to contribute to our newspaper this semester. We want to invite your students and mentees to be a part of The Chronicle News!

As an established, Black-owned publication dating back to 1986 in Mid-Michigan, it has been our intention to create safe spaces and a news outlet that will uplift our communities. In turn, we will also create inclusive spaces for young Black professionals to learn and grow as they stride into their bright futures.

It is our intention to serve your students well by supporting them throughout the duration of their time with us. With that, we look forward to tailoring the internship and their work experiences to best fit their passions, interests, existing talents and future aspirations.

Right now, we have opportunities for Writers as their pieces will be published on our digital platform and in print, with newspapers disseminated around Lansing, East Lansing, and across the Mid-Michigan Region. We also have opportunities for aspiring Digital Media Managers or Social Media Coordinators to co-own our active social media accounts with my guidance. We are excited to add an intern photographer. We have a YouTube channel connected to our publication that could be co-owned by a student interested in reporting or videography/video editing

The sky's the limit, here. The possibilities are endless. We are looking forward to this possible partnership. We plan to begin conducting interviews for internships some time in January or beginning of February as we understand most students will be busy at the top of the semester with immediate educational happenings.

Just as important as your student's skill set, we are looking for a person who:

-is enthusiastic about making their mark on our publication

-possesses a growth mindset

-is teamplayer

We do plan to compensate the students for their time and efforts, as well as providing them with the necessary feedback and evaluations for graduation and class requirements. If they are interested we ask that they send along the following material to info@chroniclenews86.com:

> cover letter

> resume

> work samples, if applicable
