IFC’s Corporate
Support Vice Presidency is responsible for communications, outreach and
partnerships, alongside other core corporate functions, including human
resources, budget, and information and technology systems. The Vice Presidency
supports the implementation of IFC’s business strategy for effective delivery
of our programs to clients and partners, in close collaboration with relevant
counterparts across the World Bank Group.
The Communications
and Outreach Department manages IFC’s communications and outreach strategy
with a focus on the Corporation’s business priorities, including cross cutting
themes. The department has three integrated units that facilitate strategic
engagement with both internal and external stakeholders: Corporate
Communications, Global Industry and Thematic Communications, and Regional
Communications.
The Communications and Outreach Department seeks to recruit
short-term interns from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) as
part of IFC’s broader diversity, equity and inclusion agenda. In this context,
we are looking for a Washington, DC-based undergraduate/ postgraduate student
to work up to 60 days as a graphic
designer for a paid internship.
The intern will need to quickly and creatively produce
graphics, including social media graphics and infographics, in a fast-paced
communications environment. This will involve weekday, and some weekend and
evening, work.
Role and Responsibilities:
•
Design engaging social media postcards,
infographics, and charts and graphs, etc., tailoring and optimizing them for a
variety of social media platforms/channels.
•
Develop and execute creative concepts for social
media and other platforms.
•
Develop social media and other graphics in a
variety of languages (translations will be provided).
•
Help with other design needs, as needed.
Selection Criteria:
•
Current or recently graduated bachelor’s
students seeking a paid internship.
•
Stays abreast of design and social media design
trends, offering new and creative ideas to effectively communicate with
graphics. Experience using relevant software, such as Photoshop, Illustrator
and Canva.
•
Takes informed risks, creatively challenging the
status quo.
•
Delivers drafts and revisions on deadline.
•
Innovative, creative, detail-oriented and
self-motivated, with an enthusiasm for the team brainstorming process.
•
Excellent interpersonal skills with a
willingness to work in a team environment.
•
Sound judgment and ability to make informed
decisions on reputational risk issues.
•
Animation skills are a plus.

may be prescribed at the time. Only those who have been fully vaccinated, and
who can provide evidence of vaccination, are permitted at IFC headquarters at
this time.
