The Collegiate Inventors Competition®

The National Inventors Hall of Fame Connects World-Changing Innovators with Today’s Youth

We inspire emerging creators and entrepreneurs through our education programs and honor the history of innovation through our museum and Hall of Fame Inductees.

Since 1990, this extraordinary invention contest from the National Inventors Hall of Fame® has offered opportunities for collegiate inventors to advance their inventions through networking, marketing exposure, and more. Each year, applications must be submitted by June. Finalists are selected in August and the event takes place on October 24-25, 2023.

With this one-of-a-kind experience, Graduate and Undergraduate Finalists receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, D.C., where they’ll gain insight from National Inventors Hall of Fame Inductees and patent examiners who serve as Judges, all while competing to win cash prizes up to $10,000, plus patent acceleration! This year, Finalists are invited to attend the National Inventors Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Oct. 26.

Now through Monday, June 5th, we are accepting submissions for CIC 2023. Entry is simple, and your students may have already completed the application requirements! To learn more about our application process,
